Wa alaikumus salaam warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh. (1) Tampon is a plug which is used as a feminine hygiene product. Its is normally inserted into the vagina during the menstrual period to absorb the flow of blood. According to some Jurist, Islamically it is disliked because it is something that is inserted in the internal part of a woman’s vagina and this resembles masturbation. (2) The same ruling applies to Mooncup ( A flexible cup or barrier) as it is also worn inside the vigina during menstruation to collect menstual fluid.
