Question

Is it permissible to use perfumes containing alcohol of denat? Is candia skimmed milk halal?

Answer

(1) There is a stage which is known as istihaalah whilst processing a substance. Istihaalah means the complete transformation of something from one nature to another. Maybe the denat is an abbreviation of denature, which more or less can be taken to mean this stage of istihaalah (Transformation). If something which is impure is transformed into something which is pure, then it will be considered as pure. Just like a donkey that happen to fall in a mine of salty water and happen to transform into salt. In this case the salt will be pure and halaal. This is a technical explanation. So if the perfume containing alcohol has gone through such process then it will be pure and halaal. However we advise people to abstain from such doubtful products as far as possible specially when it is not indispensable. (2) As far as Candia Skimmed Milk is concerned we are presently in communication with the concerned company. The outcome will shortly released.
