Question

Assalamu alaikoum wa rahmatoullahi wa barakaatuh I saw this hadith on the net. Can you explain it to me please: Hazrat Ali (R.A) then narrated as follows. I heard Prophet (S.A.W) as saying that as the Day of Qiyaamah approaches there will appear a group of youths with a low mental capacity and understanding, apparently they will talk good but their Imaan will not go beyond their throat and they will leave the true Deen like an arrow leaves the bow. Wherever you find them, you should make Jihaad with them. (Bukhaari)

Answer

Wa alaikumus salaam warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh. According to some Scholars this hadith is talking about the Khawaarij. It is a deviated sect which appeared in the time of Hazrat Ali (Radhiyallahu anhu) with unbalanced way of practicing Islaam. Their main feature is to vilify our ancestors specially the Sahabah (Radhiyallaahu anhum) and they declare Muslim as Non-Muslim. They appear to be good Muslim by their outlook, but in fact they are not. They have nothing to do with Islam just as an arrow bears no trace of the arc once gone out.
