Wa alaikumus salaam. According to a hadith reported in Tirmizi Shareef: Dua made after farz namaz is highly expected to be accepted. This hadith proves that it is reccomended for everybody to make dua after farz namaz. Quraan kareem states that dua should be made discretely in low voice.
