Aslm. Suppose a Masjid is registered as an Association and has a bank account. If fund available in the bank account exceed nisaab amount. Do we have to remove zakaat on the masjid's bank account?Answer
Wa alaikumus salaam
Money should be in the ownership of a person for zakaat to be applicable. Since money given to masjid is not considered to be in the ownership of a person, therefore zakaat is not applicable in such monies.
