Assalamu alaikum 1. Is Masturbation really Haraam? 2. Which verse/s of the Qur'aan or hadith say so? 3. From which verse or hadith do we prove that masturbation breaks ones fast? 4. Is there Qadha for the fast that is broken by masturbation or kaffaarah also? Jazaakumullahu khairaa

Answer

Wa alaikumus salaam. Masturbation is a prohibited act and a kind of transgression and going beyond limits of Shariat. In the light of the verse number 5 of surah mu'minoun and according to a hadith narrated by Anas (Radiyallahu anhu) that Allah ta'aala will not look at 7 categories of person on the day of qiyaamah. Among them is a person who masturbate. It breaks roza. It necessitates only qadha not kaffaarah.
