Covering of the ankle
A man should not cover his ankle while wearing his trousers or pyjamas. His ankle must be uncovered. In the same way, he should not wear such a Kurta (top?) or a Jubba that covers the ankle. This is the habit of the proud and having pride is haraam. Even just an atom's weight of pride is enough to prevent a person from being admitted into Jannah. Just as pride is forbidden and unlawful, things which are regarded as signs of pride should also be avoided. Covering the ankle with the trousers, pyjamas, Kurta or Jubba is a sign of pride. This is prohibited even if a person does so without the intention of pride. Rather, it is forbidden because it is a sign of pride. It becomes graver when done out of pride. In the same way, we should not imitate the immorals in their style of dressing. This applies whether in Salah as well as outside Salah.
