Signs of Qiyaamah

There are 2 types of signs of Qiyaamah. Some signs will appear before the advent of Imam Mahdi. These are known as the minor signs. Other signs that will appear after the advent of Imam Mahdi are known as the major signs.

Some signs that Nabi (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam) predicted before the advent of Imam Mahdi are:

1. The knowledge of Deen‎ will be taken away and ignorance will reign everywhere to such an extent that no one will have the knowledge of Deen‎. The people will appoint the 'Jaahil' (ignorant) as their leader, who will give them rulings on Deen‎, without knowledge. They will be deviated and will induce others in deviation.

2. Adultery will be on the increase. Nowadays, what the youth are openly doing in parks and at every street corners without fear or shame, confirms the prediction of Nabi (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam). Romancing before marriage is also included in this. This is a stupidity that takes place in the house of the girl, with the consent of the parents, the brothers, etc. Is this not what is termed as 'Dayyous' (one who has no sense of honour for his Mahram). If this is taking place in one's own house, in full view of the family, then one can just imagine what is happening outside.

3. The consumption of alcohol will be on the increase. Nowadays, a party is not considered a party if alcoholic drinks are not served. No partying is considered amusing without alcoholic drinks. A time or a season has dawned wherein people no more speak of a bottle. They drink crates after crates of liquor. The danger that this has caused to the society is clear to all, whereby the vulnerable ones are the women, children and elderly people. People do anything under the influence of alcohol. A person cannot differentiate between his wife and his daughter. A government that is truly determined to eradicate the ills of society such as theft, rape, crime and indecency, cannot continue to authorise the consumption of alcoholic drinks.

4. The male population will decrease and the female population will increase to such an extent that a time will come when a single man will have to take the responsibility of some fifty women.
