Civil divorce

Assalam Walekum,

My husband and I did our Nikkah previously. We are in the process of civil wedding divorce. No verbal or written TALAK was issued between us. Is the Nikkah void? We have been living separately for three years now.

Walaikum salaam wa rahmatullah,

According to the explanation given by you, your husband hasn't pronounced or written any statement that can nullify your Nikah so far. Henceforth, the Nikah between you two is still valid. Applying for civil wedding divorce does not nullify the Nikah unless the husband intends it.
