Question

If a wife gave her husband permission to use one of her belonging for a specific purpose, can the husband use the belonging for another purpose?
For example if she allows her husband to use her car for work purpose or leisure purpose, can the husband without wife's approval/permission/consent give the car to the in law for use?

Answer

In response to your query with regards to lending an item, one should know that such a transaction can be restricted with clauses levied by the lender. Therefore, in your case, the lender has the full authority to impose rules such as who can drive the car, at what time to drive it, etc.
If the borrower wants to use it for other purposes, then he needs the approval of the lender to do so.
