Taking from Masjid properties

Assalamualaikum
couple of years back, i bought some rocks from a mosque which was being renovated and which was supposed to be thrown away. Is it permissible to put the stones in my yard?

الجواب حامدا و مصليا

First of all, the rocks, bricks or any other items of any masjid should be used in another masjid. If it is not possible, they can be sold and the money received must be spent in the masjid. Once sold, it is permissible for the buyer to use them. In your case, it will be permissible for you to use them after you paid the price of those rocks to the masjid. It is not permissible for you to use them free.
