To marry before the ending of Iddat

Question:

A woman received her Talaaq and she is currently in Iddat. She is receiving marriage proposals. Does she have the right to marry before the end of her Iddat?

Answer:

It is not allowed to do Nikah with a woman whose Iddat has not yet completed her Iddat period. A Nikah with a woman in Iddat is not valid. It is not permissible to live with a woman through such a Nikah. It is called Nikah just for namesake. It is also not permissible to send a marriage proposal to a woman who is in Iddat.
