Al-Kabeer

Kabeer means great. Allah Ta'ala is called Al-Kabeer because all greatness belongs to Him. There is nothing which is greater than Allah Ta'ala. He is the greatest. This is said merely to get an idea. Otherwise, there is nothing comparable to Allah Ta'ala. He is incomparable and He is great in all aspects. He is eternal. Everything besides Him will perish. That means initially nothing existed. Allah Ta'ala has granted existence to everything. Besides Allah Ta'ala, everything can cease to exist. No quality of Allah Ta’ala may be attributed to shortcomings or evil. The fact that Allah Ta'ala is eternal suffices to show that He is above all and He transcends everything. He controls everything and He has power over everything. A person who believes in Allah Ta'ala, Al-Kabeer, will always be on guard not to commit anything which is undignified. He will always feel secure in regards to Allah Ta'ala. He will always be connected to Allah, Al-Kabeer. He will never fall in lowliness. The more one meditates on Al-Kabeer, the more that will render him confident, humble, gentle and affectionate.
