Eternal punishment for Kufr and Riddah (apostasy)

Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’an-e-Kareem:

"Verily those who commit Kufr and die as Kuffaar, the earth full of gold shall never be accepted from any of them if they ever wish to offer it as ransom. For them shall be painful punishment and they shall have no helpers." (S 3: V 91)

This verse shows the degree of disgust that Allah Ta’ala has for the one who die on Kufr. And yet, Allah Ta’ala is full of mercy, grace and has immense and infinite kindness. If, despite that, Allah Ta’ala has reserved eternal punishment, this shows the extent of disgust and gravity of this sin. The fact that apostasy is in the most serious and the most inferior degree of Kufr, suffices to give a small idea of how much the person who renounced his Deen will be undesirable and detestable in the eyes of Allah Ta’ala.
