The Islamic State

A government or a state is not formed by one or two individuals. It is formed by a nation who wants to live according to a certain code or certain legislation. Each nation is free to choose a code, a course of action or a political system. There are some who are of the opinion that vices, immoralities and indecency such as adultery, prostitution, homosexuality, nudity and alcoholic drinks, etc. do not disturb the proper functioning of their system. They call it freedom and for them, it is progress and development that they are proud of.

On the other side, we have Islam which is a complete code of life and an unequal ideology. This ideology is a revealed ideology that is based mainly on Divine revelation in the form of Qur’an-e-Kareem and the teachings of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) in the form of Hadith. The fact that it is a flawless ideology, it can be adopted, at all times and by everyone. It is the only way of life that is appreciable by Allah Ta’ala and it is the only way of life that guarantees eternal salvation.

Islam aims at granting security, peace and harmony to every individual in the society. For this, it advocates very severe measures against criminals who may upset an entire society and threaten the well-being of everyone. Thus, there are two choices in front of us:

1. To be harsh to some individuals who are guilty to allow the rest of the population to live in harmony and security in regards to their lives, dignity, wealth and family.

2. Or to adopt tolerance and leniency towards the culprits who threaten and endanger an innocent nation who is unable to ensure its own safety.

Islam chose the first, that is, it has adopted a very harsh attitude towards the guilty so that an entire population can live safely and freely in a clean and pure atmosphere.
