Parents paying debts from underage children possessions, or from zakaat?

A woman is in debt at about 300,000 rs.she possess jewellery around 150,000 which she had already distributed among her children,[children still underage]. she has stop working,so no way of income left.can she repay her debt by zakaat ? Or does she have the right to sell that jewellery? still half the debt will remain so what should be done?

Answer

She may take zakaat to the extent of her necessity. No question of selling the jewelry as it is not hers anymore.
