Karamat of Ibrahim At-Taymi (Rahmatullahi 'alayh)
"Once, Hazrat Ibrahim At-Taymi (Rahmatullahi 'alayh) came out to search for food for his family. However, he could not find anything. On his way back, he passed by a place where the soil was red. He filled his bag with some of its soil and returned back home. When he opened his bag, he saw that it was converted into red wheat." (Al Furqaan by Allaamah Ibn Taimiyyah (Rahmatullahi Alayh))
Explanation:
This is a Karaamat that Allah Ta’ala had granted Hazrat Ibrahim At-Taymi (Rahmatullahi 'alayh) who was a Taabi'i. In the Qur’an-e-Kareem, Allah Ta’ala has promised all those who remain in His obedience that He will grant them food in an unimaginable way. The Karaamat that a person gets, comes from Allah Ta’ala through the Barakah of following Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). All Karaamat that is manifested by any Wali, is an honour for Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) is like an institution. The success and achievement of any student is an honour that goes back to the institution. Or it is like an ocean and the merit of each drop of water is a merit and an honour for this ocean.
It is very sad to notice that when such anecdotes appear in the "Fazaa'il-e-A'maal" of Sheikh-ul-Hadith, Hazrat Maulana Zakariyya (Rahmatullahi 'alayh), they are classfied as false stories by the so-called B.A or M.A in the Shari’ah. Will those who hold B.A or M.A in Shari’ah have the courage to consider the book "Al-Fourqaan" of Allaamah Ibn Taimiyyah as a "book of false stories"?
The very same book of Allaamah Bin Taimiyyah (Rahmatullahi Alayh) mentions another anecdote, according to which the donkey of a person had died but Allah Ta’ala revived it when that person made Dua. According to another anecdote, a person was hungry and made Dua. So, a bunch of dates, wrapped in a silk cloth, fell behind him. He ate it and the remaining dates remained by his wife for a considerable amount of time. According to another anecdote, a person who was paralysed made Dua to recover the use of his hands and feet while performing Wuzu. It would happen as such.
All these anecdotes are found in "Al-Fourqaan" of Allaamah Ibn Taimiyyah (Rahmatullahi Alayh). Did those who classified the "Fazaa'il-e-A'maal" as a book of false tales due to such anecdotes have the courage to criticise "Al-Fourqaan" of Allaamah Ibn Taimiyyah (Rahmatullahi Alayh)? Let’s wait and see, but we will keep waiting!
