Kafan from Jannah

Allah Ta’ala has reserved great rewards for His privileged servants in the Aakhirah. And sometimes, in this Dunya itself, Allah Ta’ala gives a small indication of this. For example, according to an anecdote that Sheikh-ul Hadith, Hazrat Maulana Zakariyya (Rahmatullahi ‘alayh), has written in his “Faza’ïl-e-Haj”, a slave girl had passed away. His master Muhammad Bin Hussein Baghdadi went to the bazaar to buy the necessary items for the Kafan. When he returned, he was surprised to see the girl wrapped in two very perfumed green sheets.

A person qualified this as falsehood merely because no Kafan came down from Jannah when the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) passed away. Great Sahaabah (Radiyallahu Anhum) passed away but no Kafan had descended. However, this is not a proof, because a miracle can be manifested on the hand of one who is inferior according to his need, as pointed out by Allaamah Ibn Taimiyyah (Rahmatullahi ‘alayh) in his Al-Furqaan. And yet, someone else who may be a greater Wali does not experience any miracles because he does not need it. That is why these miracles have manifested themselves more among the Taabi'in than among the Sahaabah-e-Kiraam (Radiyallahu Anhum). After this explanation, it is easy to understand that if the Kafan did not descend for the Sahaabah (Radiyallahu Anhum), it can descend for one who is not a Sahaabi. So, this is not a proof that it cannot come down for others.

According to a narration that Allaamah Bin Taimiyyah (Rahmatullaahi 'alayh) has reported in his Al-Furqaan, among the clothes of Hazrat Uwais Al-Qarni (Rahmatullaahi 'alayh), there was a Kafan that he did not possess previously. Moreover, the people found a Qabr that was already dug in a rock. So, they put this Kafan on him and buried him there.

Will what has been reported by Allaamah Ibn Taimiyyah (Rahmatullahi Alayh) also be qualified as falsehood? Here also, will we dare to say that it is a false tale because when the great Sahaabah had passed away, Kafan did not come down? Reason if you truly have intelligence!
