Transformer

Not all electrical wires can receive current directly from the central supply. There must be big electrical wires for this purpose. As for thin electrical wires, they must pass through a transformer to get current. Otherwise, not only will it not get current, it will get burned also.

Similarly, not everyone has the ability to understand Qur'aan and Hadith on his own. Here also, he must pass through a transformer to understand and benefit from the light of Qur'aan and Hadith. This transformer is called a Mujtahid. Mujtahid refers to an 'Aa'lim such as Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Maalik, Imam Shafi’i and Imam Ahmad Bin Hambal (Rahmatoullaahi 'A'laihim). Otherwise, there will be a power cut which will render a person inflexible/rigid. At this stage, he falls in deviation and he misleads others. He does not have respect for Ulama. His life is wasted in refuting or criticising the Ulama. By doing such, he exposes himself to Divine wrath. Now, however much you try to make him understand, he will not understand because his wire is already burned.
