Making Azkaar during the period of Haiz

Q. Alhamdulillaah, I recite a lot of Laailaaha illallaah, Durud Sharif and Istighfar, but I am told that I cannot do it during my period of haiz (menstruation). Is this correct?

R. It is inaccurate to say that a menstruating woman should not recite Laailaaha illallaah,  Durud Sharif and Istighfar. On the contrary, the Ahaadith relating to the virtues of reciting these wazifas also apply in general, to women who are menstruating. On the other hand, it is strictly forbidden for a woman who is menstruating to read or touch the Qur'an.
