BESTIALITY

Without a doubt, the winds of industrialization are blowing over the country. Good! But our concern is that industrialization never comes alone. It is always accompanied by immorality and indecency. The rage of AIDS, the infiltration of prostitution, the appalling consumption of drugs, the normalisation of homosexuals, the presence of millions of illegitimate children and thousands of young pregnant girls, these are the headliners in the so-called "civilized" and "industrialized" countries.

Our dear "Pearl of the Indian Ocean" is not spared. The evils have reached our shores. The magnitude is not the same, of course, but little by little the bird makes it’s nest.

It's no wonder that sodomy has made its way into our habits. Moreover, people declare openly and without embarrassment that they are homosexual. Sodomy is such a despicable offense that Allah Ta'ala, the One who created man in the most perfect form, refers to it as "Faahishah." "Faahishah" is a word that encompasses everything that is repugnant, disgusting, vile, and obscene. So, sodomy is a crime that is categorically condemned in Islam. Why? Simply because it is against nature and goes against the Divine laws.

In the time of Prophet Hadhrat Lut (Alaihis Salaam), the men of his people approached their fellow men and abandoned their wives. When the Prophet Hadhrat Lut (Alaihis Salaam) exhorted them to reform their lives and stay away from this infamy, they refused. Let us look at the fate that Allah Ta'ala reserved for them:

"When our order came, we made the upper portion of the land the lower portion and We rained down on the land continuously falling stones of pottery clay that were marked by your Rabb. These are not far from the oppressors." (11: 82 and 83)

And today, people want and are fighting to legalize bestiality and immorality with words and ways called "civilized." And when we think of the legalization of abortion - abortion in itself means a lack of respect for life - but what do we want when freedom is just an empty word?

Legalising abortion will promote the development of AIDS and the advancement of adultery, especially with the promotion of tourism.

Let's be honest! When the divine limits are transgressed, Allah's wrath strikes us in the form of drought and epidemic. The two verses below tell us more.

After being affected by the drought due to their disobedience to the Creator, Hadhrat Hud (Alaihis Salaam) and Hadhrat Nuh (Alaihis Salaam) preached to their respective peoples. Hadhrat Hud (Alaihis Salaam) said:

"O my people! Seek forgiveness from your Rabb, and turn to Him. He will then send abundant rains to you and add strength to your strength. And do not turn away as wrongdoers." (11:52)

As for Hadhrat Nuh (Alaihis Salaam), he addressed his people as follows:

"I said to them, 'Seek forgiveness from your Rabb. Indeed He is most forgiving. He will send rain to you in torrents, increase your wealth and your sons and make orchards and rivers for you!" (71: 10-12)

Commenting on these two verses, the Mufassireen (those who explain and comment on the Qur'an) are unanimous in saying that the progress and strength of a people reside only in strict and complete adherence to the divine commandments. And the blessings of Allah Ta'ala are found in the development of Taqwa (the fear of Allah).

Let us look at a tradition of the Holy Prophet Hadhrat Muhammad Mustafa (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam) who was sent as the benefactor of humanity. Hadhrat Ibn Umar (Radiyallahu anhuma) reported that the Prophet (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam) said:

"The great calamities are mainly due to five things:

1. When indecency, immorality, and adultery (Faahishah) are common and openly practiced by a people, they will be affected by strange diseases that have never been heard of before.

2. The people who cheat by weight and measure will be inflicted by famine and they will be dominated and ruled by a tyrant.

3. The people who refuse to pay the Zakaat will be deprived of rain.

4. The people who break the commitment of Allah Ta'ala and His Messenger (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam) will be defeated by another people and their property will be plundered.

5. The people who give directives against the law of Allah will kill each other."

Let each of us take stock of our actions and see if we are not engaged in one of these evils. The calamities that befall us, drought for example, are due to our evil deeds and sins. The above tradition clearly shows us the causes and remedies of our suffering.

What are we waiting for?

Islam, the valid and acceptable religion in the eyes of Allah, the Gracious and the Merciful, is the way out and where the right to excess is forbidden!
