THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF THE QUR'AN

"Say: 'Draw closer! I shall recite to you the things what your Rabb has forbidden for you:

1)    That you do not ascribe any partner to Him;

2)    And that you be kind to your parents.

3)    That you do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for you and for them as well.

4)    And that you do not draw near to immoral acts that may be open and secret.

5)    And that you do not murder a soul which Allah has forbidden except with a right. These are the things which Allah has commanded you so that you may understand.

6)    And approach the wealth of the orphan only in a favourable manner until he reaches maturity.

7)    And give full measure and weight in fairness. We do not place on a soul a responsibility unless it is within its capability.

8)    Adopt justice when you speak even though it be your relative.

9)    And fulfil the pledge of Allah.

These are the things which Allah has commanded you so that you may take heed."

10)           And "This is indeed My straight path, so follow it. Do not follow other paths, for they will deviate you from Allah's path.

These are the things which Allah has commanded so that you may adopt Taqwa." (6:151-153)
