Best time for Tahajjud

To get an idea about the best time to perform tahajjud, one should divide the night into six portions as from the time after Esha till Sehri time. According to hadith the best time will be the fourth and the fifth portion of the night. But normally we do not advise the beginner to do it in this time, as it is very risky that one may miss the Fajr salaat with jamaat. Therefore it is advisable to wake up 30 or 45 minutes before subh saadiq which will enable one to perform tahajjud and Fajr salaat as well. In this way there is no need to wait for too long for fajr salaat.
