Assalamoualaikum! 1. What is the nisab a person should possess in terms of Mauritian rupees for him/her to be zakatable? 2. It is said that zakat should be calculated on the selling price of the goods not cost price but what about lots of spare parts & accessories of vehicles (over 500 items with different values). Note that the spare parts do not have a fixed selling price. They are always sold at discounted prices determined at the time of selling. 3. What about zakat for a workshop doing servicing and repairs of vehicles?

Wa alaikumus salaam ! (1) Nisaab in term of Mauritian rupees is Rs 30.000/- for the year 1435 / 2014. (2) The selling price should be estimated for these spare parts & accessories then calculate the zakaat accordingly. (3) The tools used in workshop are not zakatable.
