Dua
The treasure of Allah Ta’ala contains everything that we need. We must ask Allah Ta’ala when we need something and whatever we need in general. According to a Hadith of Tirmizi, Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) addressed Hazrat Abdullah Bin Abbaas (Radiyallahu Anhu) and advised him:
"... And when you have to ask, ask Allah Ta’ala and when you need help, ask Allah Ta’ala for help..."
Thus, when we need something, we do not have to beg from anyone. We have our Rabb who is pleased when we ask him. Thus, we should ask him whatever we want. This is what is termed as making Dua.
There is a method to make Dua. According to the teaching of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), we raise our hands when we make Dua. It is better to turn our face towards the Qibla. Firstly, we praise Allah Ta’ala. As praise for Allah Ta’ala, we can read Surah Fatiha. Then, we read Durud Shareef. After that, we acknowledge our shortcomings and incapacity and we acknowledge the ability of Allah Ta’ala. We confide in Allah Ta’ala. We ask Allah Ta’ala whatever we need with firm conviction that only Allah Ta’ala has the capacity to help us. It is a very good sign to shed tears while making Dua. Otherwise, it is recommended to pretend to cry while making Dua. And then, we end our Dua with Durud Shareef.
