The mouth

The mouth is a great favour of Allah Ta’ala. Like all other favours of Allah Ta’ala, we must know how to use this favour also. People, who are not being able to eat with their mouths or those who have other complications, may realise the value of this favour a bit more than others. Are we waiting to find ourselves in the same position to know its value? May Allah Ta’ala not put us in this situation.

We must use this mouth to consume Halaal things, to make Zikrullah, to make Tilawat-ul-Qur'an and to speak good words. We must not soil it with harsh or swear words. Nowadays, there are those who add a swearing word to each sentence. It seems that a statement appears flavourless if a swear word is not added to it. But be careful! It is the mouth. After all, it is the mouth of a human. It is not a garbage dump. According to a Hadith, there are people who at times utter a bad word without realising and that throws them into the deepest depth of Jahannam. Therefore, we must not underestimate the seriousness of uttering vile and swearing words among friends in the street in front of everyone. We must know how to uphold the value of our mouth because it is a means of reading the Kalam of Allah Ta’ala. It is not a dump.
