Akhlaaq-Tasawwuf

Truly Muttaqui

Real Taqwa is found in abstaining from sins when a person is alone and no one is seeing him. Otherwise, everyone tends to be good, to speak well and to pretend to be good in front of people. Which girl will behave badly in front of a boy who came to see her in order to marry her? Similarly, a boy will show everything that is good and conceal everything that is bad when he will go to see a prospective spouse. It is after marriage that everything is exposed. This behaviour is rather dishonesty.

Total defeat

People break the command of Allah Ta’ala for their benefits. Nevertheless, the command of Allah Ta’ala will continue to exist even if no one practices it. Moreover, the benefit that has been received also will not remain with one forever. What will remain is the disobedience that one has committed. The result of disobedience is punishment. Everything that one has committed, has been done in order to deserve punishment without having any substantial benefit. Finally, one finds oneself with a big burden of punishment on one’s head.

Personal interest

One causes harm to people for one’s ease. Another person can also cause one harm for his own ease. And normally this is what happens everywhere. Very rarely do people think of the well-being of the next person. And this is how they create a lot of problems. This way of seeking one’s ease without taking the problem of the next person into consideration, is an attitude that emanates from selfishness.

The first half / the second half

Dunya is like the first half and Aakhirah is like the second. If someone succeeds in the first half, it is not necessary that it will be same in the second half also. How many are those whose situations seemed favourable in the beginning but finally, deteriorated to end with a great failure. The opposite also is very true. That is, there are those whose situations were very unfavourable in the beginning but finally, it miraculously ended in great success.

A poor mentality

Allah Ta'ala does not consent that a person harms another. We do not have the right to harm anyone. An animal also deserves a good treatment. Otherwise we will have to pay for it by Allah Ta'ala. A lady had caused suffering to a cat by tying it up and not giving it food until it died. Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) saw this lady being punished in Jahannam. If there is such a grave consequence for harming an animal, then how grave would it be if an Insaan is harmed? And what if this Insaan happens to be your own mother or father?

You reap what you sow

If you hit someone, you will also be hit. This reciprocation is known as "reaping what you sow". This is the rule of nature unless you have a valid justification for your doing so. In that case, you have discharged your responsibility through the means you have adopted. This reciprocation is actually a blessing. Otherwise, we will pay for the consequence of our action. Nothing goes unnoticed by Allah Ta'ala. You hit someone. You insult someone. You ignore someone. You underestimate someone. However you behave with a person, you will receive the same in return.

Time

Time is a great gift from Allah Ta'ala. We should know how to use it. There is no better way to use it than in the obedience of Allah Ta'ala. Every fraction of time may be used to build or destroy our Aakhirah, wherein we will live forever. Each Tasbeeh that we do is a means to grow a tree in Jannah. Let's take benefit from the time that Allah Ta'ala has granted us.
