The first half / the second half

Dunya is like the first half and Aakhirah is like the second. If someone succeeds in the first half, it is not necessary that it will be same in the second half also. How many are those whose situations seemed favourable in the beginning but finally, deteriorated to end with a great failure. The opposite also is very true. That is, there are those whose situations were very unfavourable in the beginning but finally, it miraculously ended in great success.

In determining defeat or victory, both parts must be taken into consideration; the first half and the second half. Similarly, Dunya and Aakhirah must be taken into consideration. But the second half will decide one's fate; a winner or a loser.

Whosoever is a winner in Aakhirah is the real winner. At the outset, a real winner is someone who leaves this Dunya with Imaan. Otherwise one may be somebody on this earth but if one, unfortunately, failed in Aakhirah by leaving this Dunya without Imaan, then undoubtedly one is the most miserable person because that suffering will be eternal.

A person should not think that he is secure from that. We should always continue to make effort and ask for forgiveness from Allah Ta'ala. We should always be vigilant concerning our behaviour and rectify ourselves where rectification is required and improve ourselves where improvement is required.
