Fasting on Eid Day
An action becomes an Ibaadah when it is done while obeying Allah Ta’ala and His Rasul (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). Salah is a great Ibaadah but it will no longer remain an Ibaadah if it is done while disobeying Allah Ta’ala and His Rasul (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). The same goes for all Ibaadah. Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) prohibited fasting on the day of Eid. Therefore, it is not permissible to fast on that day. It is a sin if a person fasts on that day. Similarly, it is forbidden to fast on the day of Baqrid and the three days after Baqrid. In all, there are 5 days in a year when a person is not allowed to fast.
