Cleanliness

The Sharī'ah has emphasised a lot on cleanliness. In the Qur'aan-é-Karîm, Allah Ta’ala says:

“... and Allah loves those who keep themselves very clean.” (S9: V108)

In a Hadith, Rasulullah (Sallallaahou Aaihi Wasallam) said:

“..... Allah is pure, He loves purity. He is clean, He likes cleanliness. (Tirmizi)

In another Hadith, Rasulullah (Sallallaahou Aaihi Wasallam) said:

 “Cleanliness is half Imaan.” (Muslim)

This Hadith gives us an idea of the importance of cleanliness. It is so important that the Sharî'ah does not only called it a part of Imaan but half of Imaan. This means that without cleanliness, Imaan remains incomplete. The person who does not have cleanliness in him, is not a good Muslim because there is shortcoming in his Imaan.
