The easiest way to rectify our mistakes

When we commit a mistake, we should not be feel embarrassed and try to justify it. We should rather accept our mistake, make Taubah and take precautions not to repeat it in the future.

To vainly justify a mistake which one made is like refusing to accept that one has a disease which has been diagnosed by a very good doctor. In such a situation, neither will one submit nor accept to be treated. Finally, it is ourselves who can catch an incurable disease which could have, somehow, been avoided if one had accepted the advice of one's doctor. The same thing applies in regards to Deen. Firstly, a person does something with full sincerity. Afterwards, one's attention was drawn by someone and one realises that one was in error. However, pride overpowers one. One doesn't want to be embarrassed. One feels abased in admitting one's error and yet it is those who are truly honourable, noble and respectable who do not feel humiliated in accepting their mistake. Henceforth, one commits ten mistakes to cover up one mistake. Nevertheless, a makeup remains a makeup. Sooner or later, it should fall off. If not here in this world, there in the Aakhirah it should fall. Isn't it easier to accept a single mistake than having to give an account for ten later? That's why it is easier to take a lot of precautions before saying or doing something. If, however, a mistake occurred, then one should never hesitate to retract. One must admit one's mistake without delay and take the necessary measures for it not to be repeated in future. One must bear in mind well that justifying a mistake is a cancerous element for Imaan and Deen.
