Reward of 100 Hajj

"The one who reads 'Subhanallah' 100 times in the morning and 100 times in the afternoon will be like a person who has accomplished100 Hajj." (Tirmizi)

Imam Tirmizi (Rahmatullaahi alayh) classified this Hadith as Hassan (fair). According to this Hadith, the one who reads Subhanallaah 100 times in the morning and 100 times in the afternoon will get similar reward to a person who has performed 100 Hajj.

Performing Hajj requires a lot of sacrifices in terms of physics, finance and time. A person may accrue the reward of not only one Hajj but 100 Hajj and that also without moving from his locality. He only has to read Subhanallaah 100 times in the morning and 100 times in the afternoon. This suffices to show the value of making Tasbeeh which people nevertheless take lightly. The treasure of Allah Ta'ala does not lack anything and it never diminishes. That's why it is not difficult for Allah Ta'ala to grant great rewards for an action which seems so easy and does not require great effort. This may appear exaggerated compared to one's means and extreme insignificant and limited capacity but it is nothing compared to Allah Ta'ala whose treasure is immense and inexhaustible. It seems very easy but not for everyone. It is easy only for the one whom Allah Ta'ala has granted the Taufeeq. Otherwise, there are several people who have all types of facilities, faculties and capacities but they cannot practice it. The one whom Allah Ta'ala has granted the Tawfeeq must be very grateful to Allah Ta'ala without being proud and without having any superiority complex. This will Insha Allah open the door to other benefits as well.

Note that a person, on whom Hajj has become Farz, must absolutely perform Hajj in order to discharge his responsibility. He must not think that this reward of one hundred Hajj will suffice him on behalf of his Farz Hajj because these rewards are the rewards of Nafl Hajj. But it cannot absolve him of his Farz Hajj. He must perform it at all cost. This will not be absolved by doing Tasbeeh.

It is very sad that nowadays we are wasting our time in useless activities which could have, nevertheless, been used for very beneficial actions. Isn't it sad that the money that could have been used to soothe those who are in difficulty is being used to put poison in the body? Likewise, it is very sad that the time that could be used to build one's Jannah, is being used to facilitate the path to Jahannam.
