The real Zikr

"In reality, Zikr is obedience to Allah Ta'ala. Whoever has obeyed Allah Ta'ala, he has definitely made Zikr. On the other hand, a person who does not obey Allah Ta'ala, is not a Zaakir although he does a lot of Tasbeeh and a lot of Tilaawat-ul-Qur'aan." [Hazrat Saeed Bin Jubair (RadiyallahuAnhu].

Why aren't our Duas being answered?

Ibrahim Ibn Adham (Rahmatullahi 'alayh) was a scholar of the 2nd century and was the Ustaad and friend of Sufyaan As-Sawri (Rahmatullahi 'alayh). Once, some people asked him concerning the verse 60 of Surah 40 (Al Mu'min) where Allah said: “Supplicate to Me, I shall respond”.

They said: "We make Dua, but our Duas are not being answered."

Zikrullah

Everyone likes to speak about the things that they love. A football fan takes great pleasure in speaking about football. An alcohol drinker’s mouth waters when he hears about whisky. A person who is a fan of horse racing will remain in the thought of horses. A good Muslim also feels relieved when he thinks of his true beloved. The beloved of a Muslim is Allah Ta’ala. So, a good Muslim feels an extraordinary tranquillity and a great relief when he thinks of Allah Ta’ala.

Reciting Ya Nur 11 times and blowing on the eyes or reciting Ya Qayyum 11 times and blowing on the head after the Farz Salah

Question:

What does the Shari’ah say about reciting Ya Nur 11 times and blowing on the eyes or reciting Ya Qayyum 11 times and blowing on the head after the Farz Salah?

Answer:

Servicing Imaan

An engine requires servicing from time to time in order to remain in good condition and perform well. Similarly, Imaan also degrades and fades like a drawing and thus requires maintenance through servicing on a permanent basis.

Zikrullah

A person asked Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) to show him a practice that he can hold firm to. In response, Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) told him:

"Let your tongue be engaged in the Zikr of Allah."

Value of every second that is spent in Zikrullah

The value of every second that is spent in Zikrullah is not less than the universe. The torn carpet, on which the Ahle-Wafa (those who are sincere to Allah Ta’ala), sit to do Zikrullah, is not less than the throne of the king.
