Food and drink

Allah Ta'ala has ordered us to eat and drink but he forbade us from exceeding the limit. Exceeding the limit means to eat more than required or to eat and drink constantly at all times just as it applies to eating things that one must not eat.

Thus, a person must consume a reasonable amount that will provide him sufficient energy to do Ibaadah and that will enable him to carry out his responsibilities easily. Above all, he must consume whatever is pure and Halaal. When a person consumes Halaal, he gains the will to do Ibaadah. On the other hand, if he consumes whatever is not Halaal, then firstly he will not gains the desire to do Ibaadah and if he does get it also, he will not have 'Nur' in his Ibaadah. According to the Hadith, a person who consumes Haraam, his Dua is not accepted. Thus, one must check carefully before consuming anything, especially meat.
