Double-sided face
When a person shows two different types of behaviour, it is commonly known as two-faced. This way of life is not appreciated by those who lead such a type of life also. Is it not this that is called hypocrisy? This is a reprehensible way that even the hypocrites do not like. Imagine if one's wife has a double-sided face in one's house. No doubt it will be painful and unbearable. Thus, how can one permit oneself to lead such a life? People must be sincere in life. Sincerity should be accompanied by frankness also. It is a sincere person who will be a frank person.
As for a person who is not sincere, he will always show one quality and conceal another. He will live in a certain way secretly and in another way publicly. He will say something that he does not have it in his heart. This is the very double-sided face that the Muslims are showing nowadays. If he is a Muslim then this does not prevent him from living as a Kaafir. He celebrates New Year, Christmas, birthdays etc. His clothing, and his way of eating are all like the Kaafir. In one hand, he raises the flag of Islam and in the other, the flag of Shaitaan. If one cannot permit oneself to accept someone who has a double-sided face, then how can one believe that Allah Ta'ala will accept it? The Qur'aan tells us to enter in Islam fully with our whole body. This is what is called sincerity. It is through this that one will be sincere to one's Rabb, one's Rasul (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam), one's Deen, oneself and the entire humanity. To live a life as a double-sided person is against decency and modesty, especially when one does that with one's truly beloved, Allah Ta'ala.
