A good wife

A good wife is a wife who keeps her honour and preserves her chastity. She does not waste the belongings of her husband. She behaves in such a way that she attracts her husband. Nowadays, the tendency is to dress up elegantly merely for people and this gives a very bad impression.

A woman must beautify herself for her husband. She does not have the right to do so for strangers. Thus, one must remedy this shortcoming. But in all this, one must respect the limits of Deen. It is not permissible to beautify oneself for one's husband by engaging in things that are not permissible in the Shariah. For example, one does not have the right to cut one's hair in a boyish style or pluck one's eyebrows to please one's husband. Pleasing one's husband will be allowed and recommended as long as this does not violate the commands of Allah Ta'ala and the principles of Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam).
