Marriage

IDEAL UNION

Once a couple is bonded through Nikah, they are unified for life. This is the ideal that both parties should make effort to realise as marriage is not a flirtation of a day or two. It is done for eternity. To realise this ideal, each one should make a small concession. Each one must not just demand his right. All types of destruction in the world stem from this attitude. People have become selfish. Everyone is concerned about his own self. Everyone is demanding his right. No one dares to think about his own responsibility towards others.

THERE IS NO AGE TO GET MARRIED

If you wish to get married, you have all the right to do so if you can take the responsibility of marriage. Often, a woman who is divorced or becomes widowed gets difficulty to marry again due to opposition from her children or family.

LIVING IN HARAAM

Living with a woman without Nikah, is called living in Zina and living in Haraam. If a man and a woman want to absolutely live together, then it doesn’t cost anything to do it in a Halaal way according to the Shari’ah. They just have to perform Nikah in the presence of at least two Muslim men. If it is performed in the presence of a man and two women, then this also is valid on condition that these witnesses are Muslims.

The problem of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law

The problem between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law exists almost everywhere. A mother-in-law can never take the place of a mother. Similarly, a daughter-in-law can never take the place of a daughter. This is because a mother-in-law cannot love her daughter-in-law just as she loves her daughter. And a daughter-in-law will not be able to love her mother-in-law just like she loves her mother. This is a matter of feeling. A person cannot force himself to love a person.

Question – Fiqh - Nikaah

While romancing, a girl falls pregnant. Can her Nikaah be performed?

Answer:

Yes, it is permissible. In fact, one should not delay in order to safeguard the honour of the family. The saying that: when a man marries a pregnant woman, then if the child is a girl, it means that the man is marrying his own daughter, is erroneous.

Romancing

When a girl receives a marriage proposal and both parties have consented, the boy starts coming to the house of the girl. This is called romancing. We are so used to hearing about romancing that we no longer feel any disgust for it although it is a Haraam practice. What is more grave, is that this Haraam act takes place in the house with the consent of the parents and the entire family. There is no doubt that romancing is a kind of Zina that is a very grave sin.

Seeking ease

Everyone wants to have ease in life. And it is everyone’s legitimate right. According to the Shari’ah also, it is better to opt for ease. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) also was choosing what is easier when he had a choice between two permissible things.

Therefore, seeking ease is something that is absolutely natural and normal. This means that if a person makes his life difficult despite having facility, he is not a normal person.
