Principle concerning food
Eating an amount that allows a person to perform his Farz Ibaadah is obligatory. And it is also permissible to eat a little more to get courage and energy. But one is not allowed to eat more than necessary. More than necessary is an amount that can harm one's health. The best way, according to the Hadith, is that a person reserves a portion of his stomach for food, a portion for drink and leaves a portion empty so that he does not suffocate and can breathe well.
