Dunya and Aakhirah
There is nothing that a person does where he does not have to take a risk. In everything itself, there is risk. In walking and running, one has the risk of falling and fracturing one's arm or leg. In eating and drinking, there is a risk of choking. That is, one must accept to lose one advantage to get another advantage. An intelligent person agrees to lose a small advantage to get a big advantage. Likewise, he takes a small risk to get a big advantage. A person who believes only in the life of Dunya, sacrifices a small advantage or takes a small risk to get a big profit or a big advantage. He does not consider the life of Aakhirah because he does not believe in it. On the other hand, someone who believes in the life of Aakhirah, considers the profit of Aakhirah as the biggest profit and the biggest advantage. That is why he neglects and abandons things that seem to have a great advantage. People who do not know think that he is stupid. But he knows why he abandoned all this. He knows that whatever he abandoned does not represent anything in front of what awaits him in Aakhirah. And one may not get it if one runs after the benefits of Dunya. This is what is called Imaan. The Kaafir of Makkah came to offer Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) everything that he may want merely for him to stop inviting others to Deen but Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:
"If you put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left hand so that I give up whatever I am doing, I will never accept it."
This is why when the Deendaar abandon certain advantages of Dunya, they know that Aakhirah is not only good but is incomparable in goodness.
