The best gift

The best gift in Dunya is a woman who practices Deen. Practising Deen means to adapt one's whole life according to the commandments of Allah Ta'ala and the principles of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). In this sense, a good woman is one who adapts one's whole life according to Deen. A wife who is Deendaar cannot disobey her husband. It is a wife who does not have the knowledge of Deen or who does not have the will to act according to her knowledge in Deen who will disobey her husband. As for a wife who is truly Deendaar, she will always obey her husband. One must not think that obedience to husband has nothing to do with piety. On the contrary, without this obedience, a woman cannot be considered pious and Deendaar.

Allaamah Fakhruddeen Ar-Razi says in his Tafseer of Al-Kabeer:

"A wife cannot be pious as long as she does not obey and listen to her husband because Allah Ta'ala said:

فٱلصلحت قنتت

That is, "Pious women are the obedient ones".

According to a Hadith, the best wife is the one who pleases one when one looks at her, obeys one when one tells her to do something and preserves herself and one's wealth in one's absence. When we say to obey the husband, this concerns things which are permitted in the Shariah. Obeying the husband is commendable but not concerning forbidden things. For example, a woman does not have the right to obey her husband when he asks her to remove her Pardah and sit down with non-Mahram family members such as the husband of his sister, his cousins, his Kalu, his Pupa etc. Likewise, a wife does not have the right to obey her husband if he commands her to pluck her eyebrows, to keep long nails, to apply nail polish or to cut her hair because it is not permissible to listen to anyone or obey anyone concerning something forbidden in the Shariah.
