The welfare of the nation

A government claims to wish the welfare of the nation and in reality it must be such. The government takes the necessary measures to assume this responsibility. It implements laws to avoid accidents. Cameras are put everywhere to apprehend those who drive fast. There are hospitals, dispensaries and medical centres that guarantee our health. Schools, colleges, universities, etc. have been set up for education purposes. Despite all this, the presence of taverns under a government that claims the welfare of the nation is intriguing. Taverns are a danger to our minds. When a person drinks, his mind is not under control. He becomes a danger to himself and others. It is one's family and loved ones who suffer the most. All this is because one drank an impurity that disrupted one's faculties. He is no more himself. Despite all this, the sale of this impurity is allowed everywhere to such an extent that there is no notion of festivity without the consumption of this impurity. There is no notion of end-of-year party, picnic, birthday or any joyous occasion without this impurity.

How can a nation have the courage to name itself as an admirable nation when it associates with an impurity called the 'Mother of all vices'? How will we reconcile between the desire of the welfare of the nation that the government advocates and the authorisation of this impurity that creates a disruption and a social imbalance at all levels! This is very simple to understand. There is no need to go to school to understand that when we prevent a wrong, we have to close the door of all the factors that will lead to that wrong. One cannot authorise people to lose their mind and expect that he does not to commit any blunder. Most of the time, they commit blunders when they can no longer reason. We should make effort so that people can use their brains, otherwise it will be a means to render one’s effort void.
