Desire

Everyone has a desire. Some people want to become rich. Others love grandeur and popularity. There are several fields in Dunya. Everyone loves a certain field and has a burning desire to succeed in it. In short, we can say that there is a category of people who loves the worldly things. And there is another category whose greatest desire is to please Allah Ta'ala. In reality, every Muslim must be in this second category. That is, his main desire must be to please Allah Ta'ala. Such a life is a valid, profitable and honourable life. It is a life which is filled with joy. On the other hand, if the principal objective of a person is the Dunya, then he will have to satisfy many people to be able to satisfy himself. And satisfying others will be in an insufficient and an unsatisfactory way and for a very short duration. One leads a life of slavery for such a futile thing! Truly it does not sound good and it is not worthy. As for the one who focuses on pleasing Allah Ta'ala, he is so free that he is not attached to anything. His only concern is how he will be more and more sincere and devoted towards his Rabb. In return, Allah Ta'ala grants him a sense of extraordinary satisfaction which he feels deep down in himself which makes him independent of everything. This is what is called ''to enjoy royalty in misery''.
