Maqsud-e-Haqeeqi

When we need something, it is absolutely normal that we should search for it in the place where we can procure it. One does not look for fish in the forest. One fishes it in the sea or in the river. One does not treat one’s broken hand by a blacksmith. There is an appropriate place to do everything.

Likewise, there is something that everyone wants and needs and that is called well-being. There is a place to get it too. You will never get it in entertainment or vice. Whatever you acquire and consider as well being in entertainment is actually an illusion and a mirage. On the contrary, in order to gratify you for a very short time, it renders you miserable and unfortunate forever. The real well-being is found only in the hand of the One who created everything. Thus, we should seek it from the One who created all things. And it is Allah Ta'ala.

Allah Ta'ala grants well being to the one who loves Him. Everyone may say that he loves Allah Ta'ala. But Allah Ta'ala has set a criterion by means of which one may identify those who really love Allah Ta'ala. According to the Qur'an-e-Kareem, the love and Muhabbat of Allah Ta'ala is in following Nabi (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam). Without following Nabi (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam), pretending to have love for Allah Ta'ala, is a false pretention. Thus, real well-being lies in the hands of Allah Ta'ala which He gives to the one who follows Nabi (Sallallaahu A'laihi Wasallam).

This should not be taken lightly. It is very essential and important. It is due to people taking it lightly that makes people turn their backs to that and undergo many difficulties to finally succeed or fail. This success (the resulting success) also is not what we may term as true success. Because most of the time it is something that one acquires at the expense of one’s well-being in the Aakhirah. Nothing is equal to that well being. It is an eternal well-being that has no end. What can be the worth of a so-called well-being which is temporary in front of an eternal well-being? It is like a drop of water in front of the ocean. Despite this, people do it because they are blinded by worldly enjoyment which is very transitory and which prevents them from seeing the reality. No doubt, a truly intelligent person cannot commit the mistake of giving preference to what is temporary over what is eternal. Is it not better not knowing anything but knowing your Rabb than knowing everything but not your Rabb ???

When the love for Allah Ta'ala enters the heart, it makes everything become secondary. It is only Allah Ta'ala who becomes the Maqsud-e-Haqeeqi, that is, the real destination and the principal aim. The success of a person begins when he recognises his Maqsud-e-Haqeeqi and makes effort to acquire it.
