Important points regarding Talaaq

Talaaq is a word that should not be used. However, if there is a dire need to, three Talaaq should not be given at once. Only one Talaaq should be given. The Nikah can be dissolved by one Talaaq also and this is sufficient to enable her to contract another Nikah elsewhere if she so wants. There is no need to give three Talaaq.

There must be a valid reason to give Talaaq. However, if a man gives Talaaq to his wife without a valid reason, will this Talaaq be binding? According to the Shari’ah, this Talaaq will be binding, although this person has committed a grave mistake by giving Talaaq to his wife without a valid reason. It is not necessary to have a valid reason for Talaaq to be binding.

In such a situation, women are often upset and they lose control and this makes them utter inappropriate words to such an extent that they have objections against Allah Ta’ala and they question the Islamic law. This is very grave because a person can lose Imaan due to that. Is it worth losing one’s Imaan which is so precious for the sake of a corpse that will perish under the ground tomorrow?

The spouse may have some worth, but he cannot be more valuable than the fortune of Imaan.

Couples commit a grave mistake when they look for someone who can tell them that they can continue living together although three Talaaq have already been given. We must bear in mind that these couples and those who give this license, are all deviated.
