Lazzat-e-Munajaat

Munajaat is a conversation that takes place between two persons in such a discreet way that a third person does not know. When a person is speaking to his beloved, he does not want anyone to disturb him. He wants total solitude in a calm and serene atmosphere. Sometimes, the conversation is so sweet and pleasant that the whole night can pass without notice. The person would have liked that time would stop a little so that they could speak a little more. A person, who engages himself in Munajaat with his Rabb in the middle of the night, experiences more ecstasy than this. It is an inestimable joy that cannot be described. It is like the taste of a fruit that you should absolutely partake it to know. However much, one tries to describe it to him, he will never understand. It is such a delicious moment, that people who know about it, wait for this time impatiently from the morning. They feel that time has stopped due to their great anticipation for that time to come quickly. And when the time has come, they feel that time is running out, this is how much they appreciate this moment. The pious people who have reached a very advanced degree of proximity with Allah Ta’ala, find that this world is completely devaluated compared to the joy and the sense of well-being that they experience in that moment. It was in regards to this kind of joy that Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

"جعلت قرة عينى فى الصلاة"

"The freshness of my eyes is found in Salah."

Hazrat 'Umar (Radiyallahu Anhu) says:

"If there was not the joy of placing my forehead in Sajdah in front of my Rabb, I would have wished that Allah Ta’ala had taken me away." 

To reach such a stage, it is necessary to have love for Allah Ta’ala. And this love for Allah Ta’ala is attained by following Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). Therefore, following the Sunnah of Nabi (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) in all fields of life is the key to have love for Allah Ta’ala. And it is the key to success in Dunya and Aakhirah.
