Tableegh Jamaat and the commentary of a naïve in Deen

Commentary:

Whatever there was to explain regarding Tableegh Jamaat, was already explained by the prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). It is not in the 14th century that (Hazrat Maulana) Muhammad Ilyaas would come to show us a new method (of 40 days or 4 months). 

This is a comment that a person has made. It seems to be from a person who lacks respect or does not even have respect for the seniors of Deen. According to us, this comment does not deserve an answer. However, we understand that those who are naïve in Deen may induce similar minded people in error through their banal comments. Therefore, we have preferred to present an explanation instead of merely ignoring it.

Answer:

Studying for a number of years at a university to learn Deen was not in vogue during the time of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam). However, today, we see that people are so disinterested concerning Deen that they must be paid in order to learn Deen. Every year, they must be given a to-and-fro ticket. So, all this is done just to get a certificate or a diploma in B.A. or M.A. and finally with this B.A. or M.A. certificate, they deceive the general public who is attracted by appearance. Was there this small piece of paper of B.A. or M.A. in Deen during the time of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam)? It is a Kaafir system that the Islamic universities also are adopting. If 40 days or 4 months were inexistent during the time of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam), was there 7 years or 10 years of learning Deen at university during his time? Was there this education system that is prevalent nowadays in the Islamic universities during the time of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) or was this introduced to adapt with time? Definitely, there was not. If despite that, this is correct, then what is wrong with 40 days or 4 months if it has been adopted as a period of time in order to achieve a certain level of Islamic formation?

Often, courses for a number of sessions are announced. Did this system exist? If it did not exist, and in reality, it did not exist during the time of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam), how could they allow themselves to adopt it? If in spite of that, this is correct, then why is the system of 40 days or 4 months not correct? 40 days or 4 months are like all other educational systems whereby a duration of time was fixed in order to attain a certain stage of Islamic foundation.
