Do not render judgement

"A judge must not render judgement between two persons when he is angry." (Saheeh Bukhari)

Explanation:

Anger is something that causes a person to loose control. At times, he may say certain things without being conscious of the gravity of those words. In such a state, a person happens to have disgust for his wife, for whom he had gone out of his way to marry her. However, today, in a fit of anger, he does not find her good enough.

In reality, nothing has changed. It is his anger that has changed his way of seeing things. That is why Rasulullah (Sallallahou Alaihi Wasallam) prohibited rendering judgment in such a state.

According to the scholars, through this Hadith, Rasulullah (Sallallahou Alaihi Wasallam) has drawn our attention to all the states that causes a person to loose control such as hunger, thirst, sleep, sadness or extreme joy, etc. Therefore, in these states also, a person should not render any judgment.

In general, a person must ensure that he is in a normal state before taking a decision. If he is upset, he can allow someone else on whom he has trust, to take the decision for him. We must adopt this principle wherever we have an important decision to make. Youngsters, who are planning to get married especially, must always contact people who are more experienced and more Deendaar in order to take a good decision by making a good choice. When youngsters want to get married, they forget that there are thorns also under a rose. That is, they forget that they have to lead a turbulent life that has its ups and downs. They think that they will lead a life like the actors-actresses all the time, where they will meet in the snack, the restaurant, the nightclub or in the street corners. Before marriage, they get the opportunity to see only one facet of life. And due to lack of experience, their minds also are not opened enough in order to realise how life will be after marriage where each one will have to take his responsibility and the role of playboy or playgirl will be over.

Besides this, there is another subject. It is the subject of Talaaq. Here also, we face the same type of problem. Many people, at a given moment, under the influence of anger, decide to give Talaaq with the idea of getting rid of problems. Some of them may have done the right thing. However, this is not the case in general. In most cases, the person takes the wrong decision because he could no longer reason. It is only afterwards that one comes to know that he was very angry. It was in a fit of anger that he pronounced three Talaaq. They present this excuse just to get a way out. However, we must know that people do not give Talaaq to their wives in happiness. They only give it in anger. Therefore, in order not to have any regret in the future, we must always analyse the pros and cons with a calm mind before pronouncing the word Talaaq, which can never be taken back. And to be more careful, it is not exaggerating if we contact a person who has Deen and the knowledge of Deen who can advise us.
