Seeking the pleasure of Allah by making people angry
"The one who seeks the pleasure of Allah by making people angry, Allah Ta’ala will be satisfied with him and will make people also become satisfied with him..." (Ibn Hibbaan)
Explanation
The bottom line / most essential thing is that a person must always seek the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala through his activities and behaviour even if it renders him unpopular in public. If he has managed to do it, it means that not only will Allah love him, but Allah Ta’ala will also honour him in public. However, a person must not adopt it with the aim of getting public respect. This will be against sincerity. If people do not like you because you do not participate in their activities that Allah Ta’ala does not like, you should not be discouraged. You must continue your struggle. You are doing the right thing and the end result will be in your favour. If the opponent is overpowering you on the field, you should not be afraid because there is something called the second half. Allah Ta’ala always makes the second half in favour of those who make effort and sacrifice themselves to please him.
Therefore, do not attend a place, ceremony or participate in a practice that Allah Ta’ala does not like. Do not eat or drink something that Allah Ta’ala does not like. Do not say something that Allah Ta’ala does not like. Even if it would displease people around you, your colleagues at work or your close ones. We should always think about what Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:
‘There is no obedience to any creature in the disobedience of the Creator.’
