Merry-making

On the occasion of New Year, you can receive proposals to join some merry-making. That is, your friends and colleagues invite you to have a small drink merely to have a little fun. It goes without saying that you must not accept this invitation at any time. By accepting such an invitation, you will be carried away by Shaitaan who is your declared enemy. You will imbalance your position that was still stable till now. You will take a first step towards your own destruction. Your wife, children and close ones will all suffer together with you.

Does something that causes so much damage also be called merry-making? We must know how to say "NO" to those pleasures that make us disobey Allah Ta’ala. Allah loves us more than the amount that parents love their children!

Sometimes a person may say, "What is wrong if I have a juice at the same table as those who are drinking alcoholic drinks, at least I do not drink!" BE CAREFUL! This is also not permissible. As a Muslim, you do not have the right to drink nor to accompany those who are drinking nor even drink Zamzam water at the same table where wine or alcoholic beverages are being served.
