Yes or no

Just like there is 'Yes' in life, there is also 'No' in life. It is not only 'Yes' or only 'No'. There are both. A person must know when to say 'Yes' and when to say 'No'. If you say 'Yes' to everything that your wife tells you, you will become a good accomplice and a henpecked husband. Similarly, if you say 'No' to everything, you will become a negative and a very difficult person. Due to lack of experience, immaturity and extravagances of life, in particular, it is difficult to know by yourself in what situations you should say 'Yes' and in what situations you should say 'No'. You must benefit from those who have already said several 'Yes' and several 'No' in their lives and who have got the opportunity to observe and analyse the consequences of their answers. If you want to have your own experience, you will repeat history without any use of ‘rewinding’ it. Would it not be better to hear another melody than to replay? Otherwise, there will never be any progress. That is why we see that nowadays’ youngsters have made great progress in the material field but as far as the spiritual field is concerned, they are going backwards. This is because, as far as the material field is concerned, every generation has continued as from where the previous generation had arrived, but as far as the spiritual field is concerned, everyone wants to repeat their own experience without wanting to benefit from their former. Therefore, we must know how to say ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ in life. And we should learn where we should say ‘Yes’ and where we should say ‘No’ from those who are upright in regards to their knowledge and Islamic behaviours: 

We must have the courage to say ‘No’ to temptations and passions. This will facilitate us to say ‘Yes’ to sacrifices in Deen for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala.
